Near Ubud, with room to breathe

We say "near Ubud" rather than "in Ubud", because that is the truth. Our address is in Kemenuh, Sukawati — south-east of Ubud town, among rice fields and gardens. That is exactly why we have space for a real playground, a garden and a quiet nap room.

How long does it take?

About 30 minutes by car from central Ubud. Traffic in the area varies, so allow a little more at busy times.

That half hour is the trade-off — and it is exactly what buys the 1,000 square metres of garden, the open bamboo rooms and the quiet.

Minibus transfer

As an optional service, we run comfortable minibuses that collect children from families living further from the campus and bring them home again. It is not part of every enrolment, so please ask us whether it works for your address. Several parents mention it as the thing that made daily life work.

Open bamboo learning spaces

Instead of conventional closed classrooms, we built open bamboo spaces. They keep the tropical sun off while children spend much of the day in fresh air.

Around 1,000 m² of grounds

Surrounded by tropical greenery and away from the busy main roads of Ubud — which is exactly why there is room for a garden and a real playground.

A nap room

Children who still need daytime sleep rest properly, with relaxing music, bedding changed regularly and cleanliness carefully maintained. Those who no longer sleep get calm activities instead.

Stone, grass, sand and wood, so children’s hands and feet get texture, temperature and unevenness to work with.

Separate areas by age

The junior group has its own mini playground for early motor skills. The senior group has equipment for balance and coordination.

Each room is set up so children can reach, choose and return their own work without asking an adult.

A kitchen, not a caterer

Meals and our own whole-grain bread are made on site, which is also where the children’s cooking lessons happen.

Children plant, water and harvest, and learn where food comes from by growing some of it.
